Arita Trahan

Arita Trahan became a student of acting in her thirties. She had always liked the idea of climbing into the story, but was too shy. Then she became the "reading lady" for her children's grade school and got a fan letter from a second grader! That did it!

Fast forward to April 2007. Arita is performing in a production of Allen Bennett's "Talking Heads" when a NYC actress encouraged her to "get yourself into an actors' market". So, with all her old excuses worn thin, Arita sat at her desk contemplating a summer in NYC. Right at that moment, her phone rang and it was Los Angeles! Well – it was a director in Los Angeles.

Cayman Grant invited Arita to come to L.A. to be in the short film "Soup Ladle". Arita had never been to L.A. She came, she stayed, and she loves it here. She also played the title role in the BBC documentary "The Real Mrs. Doubtfire" currently airing in the UK. Other principal roles for TV were on American's Most Wanted, It's a Miracle, The Super Man and America's Dumbest Criminals. She has been featured in the films"21 Grams", "Blue Valley Songbird", "False Prophets", and the upcoming "Mojave Experiment".
